2010 Illinois History Expo Awards

Superior, Excellent, and Good awards are given at both the Illinois History Fair Regional Fairs and the Illinois History Exposition. Students also receive written evaluations from the judges.

Ronald Reagan Centennial Award will be offered in 2011 to honor the 100th birthday of the only President of the United States born in Illinois.

Illinois College Scholarships are awarded to two high school students who write the best research papers on the Civil War and Illinois.

The Governor’s Award is given by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency to the School judged to have done the most to advance the study of Illinois and local history, both in the classroom and in the community.

Abraham Lincoln Association Awards are presented to the best junior and senior high papers. Each award is $500.00.

Illinois & Michigan Canal Awards, all categories are considered for these awards.

Illinois Association of Museums looks for a unique and well-designed exhibit to recognize with cash prizes.

XVII Century Awards from the Illinois Society Colonial Dames offer three cash prizes.

Illinois State Organization, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution awards five $ 100 cash prizes for exhibits dealing with small town history.

Genealogical/Family History Award is presented to a paper that uses extensive genealogical records or focuses on a compelling family history.

Earnest Ott German History Award is presented to a project that highlights German-American history in Illinois. The Prize is sponsored by the DANK, the German-American National Congress.

Illinois Education Association Awards are presented to three exhibits at the Illinois History Expo.

Illinois Press Association Elijah P. Lovejoy Award is given to the project or paper that best uses Illinois newspapers as a source material or deals with an aspect of Illinois newspaper history.

Illinois Labor History Society Awards are presented to three Expo entries dealing with Illinois labor history.

Many other awards sponsored by statewide associations are also available.
